The All Ireland Scholars Creative Writing Competition was launched in 2020 in collaboration with the Creative Writing department at the University of Limerick. Honouring the importance of the written word, and named after AIS Trustee and Competition Founder, Professor Roger Downer, the competition is open to All Ireland Scholarship winners from 2008 to present.
The latest iteration of the competition focused on flash prose and short poetry with the Dialog team managing the PR, communications and marketing of the competition as well as the annual awards ceremony and lunch in Adare Manor.
The competition’s judging panel has included many prolific authors over the years, including Roddy Doyle, Marian Keyes, Donal Ryan and Paul Lynch.
